How it started
North West Travel Clinic began life inside Ready Health, the private medical clinic our team opened at 22 High Street in Standish. As more of our patients came to us before trips โ for Yellow Fever certificates, rabies courses, last-minute typhoid jabs โ it became clear that travel medicine deserved a clinic of its own. So we built one. Same front door, same NHS-trained clinicians, now with a dedicated focus.
Travel medicine, done properly
Travel medicine is genuinely different from everyday practice. A good consultation weighs your exact itinerary โ destinations, dates, activities, how rural you're going โ against current UKHSA and NaTHNaC guidance, then works backwards from your departure date so multi-dose courses like rabies or Hepatitis B actually fit before you fly. Because we're a designated Yellow Fever vaccination centre with the full vaccine range held in stock on site, that plan usually comes together in a single visit.

Care you can trust
The way we practise hasn't changed from Ready Health: honest, unhurried, and led by clinicians. We only recommend what your trip actually needs, and if a vaccine is free on the NHS we'll say so. And if needles aren't your thing โ or your children's โ our clinicians are calm, gentle, and used to both.
